So you’ve been looking long and hard at upgrading to a new marker. You’ve been hearing some of your best buds tell you that a  longer barrel is the way to go, that it will definitely improve your accuracy. This is another long standing myth that just isn’t true.

The physics of regular firearms are not the same as those for paintball markers.  Paintball barrels aren’t really barrels in the same sense as a regular gun. They should really be thought of as launch tubes. If you think of them that way, then you’ll see how a longer barrel actually may work against you. The length of the barrel that’ll work best really depends on valve timing and pressure of a particular gun. Anything past the length for getting a paintball to speed and there will be more friction, actually causing it to slow down.

So before you go with a marker that has a crazy cool barrel, think about what length you really need and how it can affect your gameplay. Don’t buy into the hype, choose your marker and your carbon fiber tanks wisely and don’t always assume the myths are truth!

It will not improve your accuracy everybody know that, but he will improved to distance you can shoot.
