There are a lot of myths when it comes to paintball. You hear people talk about all sorts of things when it comes to equipment, strategies, markers, paintball air tanks, and everything else under the sun related to the game. But one of the biggest myths that comes out of the sport is that better equipment automatically makes for a better player.
Wrong.
Better equipment will help make certain things easier for a player. A lighter marker will make hustling down the field easier, a better scope will help with accuracy. But in the end, it’s not the equipment that makes the player, it’s the skill. You can buy the most expensive armor in the world but it won’t keep you from getting pegged if you don’t know how to utilize cover to the best of your ability. Your marker may be high class but that won’t make you a better shot.
And never underestimate those who come into the field with lesser equipment than you. Just because they spent less money doesn’t mean they haven’t been practicing day in and day out. They may be able to take you down with their cheaper marker faster than you can yell “duck!” to your team mates.

I can’t even tell you how many times I couldn’t shoot someone’s buttpack because my gun shot like sh*t.. Better equipement won’t give you skill but it will affect the impact you have on a game.
